Explained: How Arsenal can pip Tottenham to top four finish in the Premier League on final day

But Unai Emery’s side could still pip their north London rivals to fourth and seal Champions League qualification through the league.

Tottenham will finish in the top four if they win or draw against Everton at home regardless of Arsenal’s result at Burnley.

However, should Spurs lose then it opens the possibility of the Gunners sneaking above them.

For Arsenal to do it, they would have to beat Burnley heavily AND hope Tottenham’s defeat is also by a big margin, with an eight-goal swing also required.

It’s an unlikely scenario but as Liverpool and Tottenham proved this week, nothing is impossible in football.
