Tomori has been an ever-present at the heart of defence throughout the campaign, starting 45 matches and playing more than any other of all the Chelsea loanees littered around Europe.

And Lampard has been full of praise for the defender.

He told Rams TV: â€Å“His progression this year has been incredible. From when he came in, he was a good young player anyway, but you can see how pivotal he has been in our team.

“He has grown from within and I’ve enjoyed working with him day to day. He wants to learn and improve his game but all the attributes he has, he is using them.”

Mount has also enjoyed a brilliant season and that continued this weekend as he netted his first senior hat-trick against Bolton.

The 20-year-old has eight goals and three assists in 20 league matches this season.

Chelsea are currently appealing a two-window transfer ban, but should this sanction remain in place, Mount and Tomori may potentially be playing in a blue shirt soon.

‘I cried when I was sacked as Manchester United manager’, David Moyes tells talkSPORT

David Moyes has revealed to talkSPORT he was reduced to tears when he lost his job as Manchester United manager.

It̢۪s crazy to think there are still two months remaining on the six-year contract Moyes signed with the Red Devils in 2013.

Moyes was sacked before finishing his first season as United boss

The former Everton boss got his dream job when he was hand-picked by Sir Alex Ferguson to succeed him at Old Trafford.

After guiding the club to a record 20th top-division title, Fergie even urged fans to ‘stick by their new manager’ in an impassioned speech on the Old Trafford pitch.

But it did not go to plan for Moyes, who was unceremoniously forced out of the door just nine months later.

The 57-year-old joined fellow Scots Alan Brazil and Ally McCoist to look back on his brief United career on Thursday̢۪s Sports Breakfast show.

In a game of ‘First and Lasts’, Moyes was asked about the last time he cried.

And he couldn’t quite disguise the disappointment in his voice when he answered: â€Å“Oh, I think probably when I lost my job at Manchester United.”

Moyes went on to claim the club have failed to progress since he left Old Trafford five years ago.

United have had three permanent managers in the four seasons since his departure, and will end this season without a trophy.

“I feel that since I took over to where they are just now, I don’t think there’s an awful lot of difference,” he said.

â€Å“When I took over it was needing a change and needing a turnaround of players, and that was all going to take time.

â€Å“I feel like in the four years or so since I was managing there, it’s probably not moved on much more.

â€Å“It’s quite similar, they’re still saying there needs to be changes and has to be things done.

Jurgen Klopp refuses to rule out managing Bayern Munich ‘if the timing is right’ but says he is happy at Liverpool

Jurgen Klopp appears to have not ruled out managing Bayern Munich once he has finished with Liverpool – but he insists he is happy at Anfield for now.

Despite leading Bayern back to the top of the Bundesliga following a comprehensive 5-0 win over Borussia Dortmund, former Croatia international Niko Kovac remains under pressure to keep his job.

Klopp however, has led Liverpool to the top of the Premier League and could very well win them a first top flight title since 1990.

He also spent seven years in charge of Dortmund before moving to England, and he’s understood to be on Bayern’s radar.

â€Å“I have a contract at Liverpool until 2022,” Klopp said to German newspaper Die Welt. “And no one here has the feeling that we should end it – neither from the side of the owner nor my side.

â€Å“I do not know (about managing Bayern). There’s a long way to go.

â€Å“Basically, football is like this: The opportunity has to be right, and the timing has to be right.

â€Å“But I’m totally happy here and do not feel like I’m finished here. Our team has a good age structure and we can work together for a while.”

Liverpool, who came from behind to beat Southampton 3-1 on Friday night, are next in action when they face Porto in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final at Anfield on Tuesday night.

Club career so far?

Signed from Hull’s academy in 2014 for £72,000, he followed in the footsteps of Joe Allen and Ben Davies by going from the youth set up to first team player when he made his Swans debut in the Championship draw with Birmingham in August 2018.

In June 2017, he signed for Shrewsbury on loan, but two months later the deal was terminated after he failed to make an impact.

“Shrewsbury Town can confirm that Dan James’ loan spell has been terminated by mutual consent and he will return to Swansea City,” a statement read on the club’s website.

Daniel James almost joined Leeds United in January

“Dan joined Town on-loan from Swansea this summer, but he hasn’t been able to force his way into Paul Hurst’s side.

“The club would like to thank Dan for his hard work and dedication during his time with the club.”

To date, he has made 43 career appearances and scored seven times.

How much is he likely to cost?

Reports suggest that Swansea and the Red Devils agreed a £15million deal for the highly-rated winger.

WalesOnline have said the figure is £18m, but an exact total is likely to be revealed at a later date.

International experience?

After being called up to the Wales side in 2017 by Chris Coleman, the Yorkshire-born attacker made his debut for Wales last November, with Old Trafford legend Ryan Giggs handing him his first cap and he has two in total

He also scored the winning goal in Wales’ Euro 2020 qualifying win against Slovakia.

“He is a level-headed lad who has huge ability and I am sure he wants to show it at the highest level he can.

“I am confident he can do that.”

Simon Jordan discusses Daniel James' possible move to Manchester United

“Dan James has got a bright future,” said John Harrison, former Wales striker.

“He scored a goal in his second cap where he was starting on the left-hand side. He has ridiculous pace and played well against Manchester City in the FA Cup.

“He was almost out of the door and was up at Leeds signing for £10million and he brought him back.

“I think that will treble now with the market the way it is.”

Giggs has urged James to carry on with the form he’s been showing at Swansea

Giggs has urged James to carry on with the form he’s been showing at Swansea

Giggs, his manger for Wales said: “He is a talent, and when you have got that raw pace you are a threat at any level.

“As a winger, you then have to develop the other parts of the game, which I feel that he is doing. He just needs to carry on doing what he’s doing for Swansea, it’s as simple as that.”

How will he fit in to Man United?

James has actually played on the left more often than any other position for Swansea and his direct pace and trickery would certainly worry any full-back.

United have Marcus Rashford and Alexis Sanchez who can play there too but the later is, one way or another likely to be moved on.

Solskjaer favoured a 4-4-2 diamond last season and James is also capable of operating as a No.10, with a defensive midfielder to back him up, but it is more likely he would feature out wide on the left in a 4-3-3, allowing him to hit the flank and fly.
