Liverpool injury news: Mohamed Salah, Jordan Henderson and Andy Robertson fit to face Wolves on final day of season

Mohamed Salah, Jordan Henderson and Andy Robertson will be fit to face Wolves on the final day of the Premier League season, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has confirmed.

Salah missed the Reds’ stunning 4-0 win over Barcelona in the Champions League semi-final on Tuesday with concussion, while Robertson was forced off at half-time after being kicked by Luis Suarez.

The trio have been crucial to Liverpool’s title challenge this season

Henderson, who played the full 90 minutes against Barca, battled through with a knee injury.

Liverpool will get their hands on the Premier League title if they beat Wolves on Sunday and Man City either draw or lose their match against Brighton.

And the Reds have been boosted by the availability of Salah, Henderson and Robertson, but the game comes too soon for Roberto Firmino, who has a groin problem.

Klopp said: “The famous three words of this week in the dressing room: ‘It’s only pain’.

Slavia Prague 0-1 Chelsea: Marcos Alonso’s late header seals crucial win for Blues in Prague

A late Marcos Alonso header saw a lacklustre Chelsea edge past Slavia Prague 1-0 in the first leg of the Europa League quarter-final tie.

The Spain full-back ghosted clear in the box to nod home Willian’s teasing far-post cross, to hand the Blues the slender advantage midway through their quarter-final.

Chelsea came very close drawing their last-eight first leg tie at the Sinobo Stadium, the Blues struggling for fluency throughout a niggly night in Prague.

A late Alonso header sealed a win for Chelsea in Prague

Replacement Ruben Loftus-Cheek’s smart spin and break turned Slavia’s defence at the death however, before Willian served up the perfect cross.

Alonso’s third goal of the season and second in the Europa League proved just enough for Chelsea then, but the Stamford Bridge men will hardly be happy with their performance.

Chelsea will now expect to complete the job and move through to the semi-finals when hosting Slavia in the return leg next Thursday.

The Blues were relieved to prevail on the pitch, in another night where racism hit the headlines.

Chelsea’s security team identified and barred entry to the stadium for three supporters, who had taken part in a video on social media where Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah appeared to be racially abused.

Three other supporters in the video did not attempt to enter the Sinobo Stadium.

The best Chelsea could muster in a piecemeal first-half was Willian’s curled effort that struck the crossbar.

Slavia captain Simon Deli wasted a fine early chance by nodding wide. Then Vladimir Coufal failed to connect fully with a skewed header of his own.

Miroslav Stoch stung Kepa’s palms, but his strike was never likely to beat the Chelsea stopper.

If Chelsea’s first-half was flat, the opening to the second was little short of tetchy.

The Blues’ glowering looks and gesticulations escalated amid increasingly raucous home support.

Lukas Masopust turned last man Andreas Christensen only to slip, letting Chelsea hugely off the hook.

Sarri’s men are now in a commanding position for the return leg at Stamford Bridge

Sarri’s men are now in a commanding position for the return leg at Stamford Bridge

Not even an hour had elapsed when Sarri threw on talisman Eden Hazard in place of Pedro, the Stamford Bridge boss itching for an injection of impetus.

Antonio Rudiger saw his low effort rebuffed by Ondrej Kolar, and then Willian dragged wide from a promising position.

Ibrahim-Benjamin Traore raced clear for Slavia, only to see his fine long-range effort tipped round the post by Kepa.

N’Golo Kante and Ruben Loftus-Cheek were also sent into the fray as Chelsea chased a breakthrough.

Jorginho had the ball in the back of the net, but the goal was chalked off with Olivier Giroud offside.

A poor punch by Kepa gifted an opening to Jan Boril, but the Chelsea keeper conjured a solid stop to deny the full-back, immediately sparing his own blushes.

Just when Chelsea looked like labouring to the draw however, the visitors conjured the move of the match even capped with a smart finish.

Loftus-Cheek powered through midfield on the turn, before spreading out right to Willian.

The Brazilian steadied himself and whipped in a far-post cross, that Alonso nodded into the corner of the net.

Swansea City 1-1 Derby County: Frank Lampard’s side held as race for final Championship play-off place goes to final match of season

Derby County missed out on a chance to all but seal a place in the Championship‘s top six as they were held by Swansea City.

They drew 1-1 at the Liberty Stadium on Wednesday and go into the final day needing a result against West Brom.

Richard Keogh’s first-half header looked like giving Derby a handsome advantage over seventh-placed Middlesbrough ahead of their final game at home to West Brom on Sunday.

But Wayne Routledge’s 66th-minute equaliser means Derby go into the last day of the regular season with a one-point lead over Middlesbrough while Bristol City, a point further back, also remain in the play-off equation.

In the end a draw was probably a fair result, with Derby the more polished outfit before the break and Swansea energised after it to protect an unbeaten home league record that stretches back to December.

Frank Lampard’s drew at Swansea

But boss Lampard might rue the fact that Derby did not make their early edge count, especially as victory would have surely sewn up sixth place given their superior goal difference to Boro’s.

Both sides formed a guard of honour before kick-off for Alan Curtis, who is retiring from coaching at the end of the season after 40 years of service at Swansea.

Derby were briefly worried when the Swansea danger-man Daniel James tested Kelle Roos with a low shot at his near post.

But Derby soon established control and Tom Lawrence fired over before Bradley Johnson brought a fine point-blank save from Kristoffer Nordfeldt.

Swansea have struggled defending set-pieces all season and were punished again when Harry Wilson sent his corner to the far post.

Keogh took advantage of some lax marking to direct his header back across goal and in off the post.

James shot wide as Swansea stirred but Derby finished the half on top and twice came close to doubling their lead.

Cameron Carter-Vickers almost diverted the ball into his own net after some Mason Mount trickery, and Nordfeldt had to move his feet quickly to help Wilson’s audacious attempt over the crossbar.

Swansea made two changes at the break, as well as a tactical tweak as manager Graham Potter went with three at the back.

Declan John was immediately denied an equaliser by Roos’ outstretched foot and Jay Fulton, the other Swansea substitute, blazed over moments later.

Derby responded as Mount’s drive was deflected wide and Keogh headed over, but Swansea pressure was growing and the equaliser arrived when Oli McBurnie rose splendidly from a corner.

The Scot’s header was pushed on to a post by Roos, but the veteran Routledge was on hand to slide home his second goal in three games and boost his hopes of landing a new contract.

Keogh was injured in that incident to possibly put his place in the final game in jeopardy, but Derby kept their destiny firmly in their own hands.

‘I can’t wait for Jurgen Klopp and Virgil van Dijk to leave Liverpool’, says Everton fan Tony Bellew

Everton fan Tony Bellew has revealed his misery at Liverpool’s success this season and has told talkSPORT: ‘The sooner Jurgen Klopp and Virgil van Dijk leave, the better!’

The former cruiserweight world boxing champion joined the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast on Monday to share his reaction to Liverpool losing out on the Premier League title.

Naturally, the devoted Toffee was delighted, but that was not until he was left sweating after a thrilling final day of top flight action.

Liverpool did all they could, as a Sadio Mane brace led them to a 2-0 final day win over Wolves

Liverpool did all they could, as a Sadio Mane brace led them to a 2-0 final day win over Wolves

Liverpool went top of the ‘as it stands’ table during Sunday’s finale when Brighton scored a surprise goal to go 1-0 up against City, with the Reds already leading against Wolves.

Fortunately for Bellew, though, that lead lasted just minutes, as City came back to win 4-1 at the Amex Stadium and beat Liverpool to the crown.

Speaking to talkSPORT the former boxing star said: “I was watching the game yesterday and when City conceded I swear on my life I just said it was written in the stars. I just put my iPad on and started playing games, I was that nervous.”

Of course, there is a chance Liverpool can still lift a trophy this season with a Champions League final against Tottenham on the horizon.

Bellew said he would be devastated if he saw his red rivals crowned European champions again, and can’t wait until Klopp and PFA Player of the Year Van Dijk to leave Anfield.

“I can’t knock Liverpool, at the end of the day they’re a fantastic team,” he added, probably through gritted teeth.

“Would I congratulate them if the won it? Absolutely not, no! It would be great for the city, yeah, but would I be happy? Absolutely not, no!

“Every time I hope Liverpool lose something, they end up winning. So I hope they win the Champions League. I hope they tank Spurs about 5-0…

“Jurgen Klopp does absolutely fantastic in finals, as we’ve seen, so I’m just hoping he has another great night in a final.

“He’s one of the best managers in the world and they’ve got THE best defender in all the world, so it really should be a walk in the park for them.

“The sooner Jurgen Klopp and Virgil van Dijk leave our city the better, for me.”

Bellew says he would hate it if Liverpool won the Premier League and Champions League titles

Meanwhile, Bellew asked Sports Breakfast co-host Ally McCoist what he was smoking after the Rangers legend asked a bizarre question about Everton supporters.

“Tony, I have to ask you, would there have been many Everton fans wanting Liverpool to win the league yesterday?”

To which Bellew replied: “Mate, I don’t know if you’re intoxicated or you’re drugged at the minute, but which ever one you’re on please stop taking them because they’re not good mate, they’re not good for your mind!”

Ally aded: “I’ll take that as a ‘no’ then!”
