Fair play to Mark Lawrenson, the Liverpool legend and BBC pundit has once again completed a whole campaign of Premier League predictions.

Every Friday, without fail, the former Reds defender gives his views on the weekend’s games to preview the latest action.

20. Huddersfield

According to Lawro, the Terriers should have finished bottom of the pile on 15 points. They would have this record: W3 D6 L29

Reality: He almost got it spot on with his prediction as they ended with 16 points. Their record is: W3 D7 L28

Huddersfield fans got behind their team until the very end.

19. Cardiff City

According to Lawro, the Bluebirds were his pick to finish 19th on just 16 points. They would have this record: W3 D7 L28

Reality: Cardiff significantly over-performed his prediction but were still relegated in 18th place, with 34 points and this record: W10 D4 L24

Neil Warnock and his men did far better than Lawro imagined

18. Brighton

Lawro’s prediction: the Seagulls would finish 18th on 30 points. They would have this record: W7 D9 L22

Reality: Brighton managed to stay in the top-flight by two points, finishing 17th on 36 points with this record: W9 D9 L20

17. Fulham

According to Lawro, the Cottagers would be 17th on 32 points. They would have this record: W9 D5 L24

Reality: The Cottagers failed to stay up, finishing 19th on 26 points with this record: W7 D5 L26

16. Crystal Palace

According to Lawro, the Eagles would have ended the campaign 16th on 36 points. They would have this record: W9 D9 L20

Reality: Roy Hodgson led his men to 12th and a points tally of 49 with this record: W14 D7 L17

According to Lawro, the Saints would have been 15th on 37 points. They would have this record: W11 D4 L24

Reality: Ralph Hasenhuttl saved them from relegation but only got them to 16th on 39 points with this record: W9 D12 L17

14. AFC Bournemouth

According to Lawro, the Cherries would have finished 14th on 37 points. They would have this record: W10 D7 L21

Reality: The Cherries ended up in 14th on 45 points with this record: W13 D6 L19

13. Watford

According to Lawro, the FA Cup finalists would have ended the year in 13th on 39 points. They would have this record: W11 D6 L21

Reality: The Hornets finished 11th on 50 points with this record: W14 D8 L16

12. West Ham United

According to Lawro, the Hammers should have finished 12th on 39 points. They would have this record: W11 D6 L21

Reality: The Hammers finished well in 10th on 52 points with this record: W15 D7 L16

11. Newcastle United

According to Lawro, the Magpies would have finished in 11th on 49 points. They would have this record: W14 D7 L17

Reality: Rafael Benitez’s men did well to get up to 13th on 45 points with this record: W12 D9 L17

10. Burnley

According to Lawro, the Clarets would have finished 10th on 50 points. They would have this record: W13 D11 L14

Reality: Sean Dyche’s men ended the campaign in 15th on 40 points with this record: W11 D7 L20

9. Wolverhampton Wanderers

According to Lawro, Wolves would have been ninth on 51 points. They would have this record: W16 D3 L19

Reality: Nuno Espirito Santo’s side over-performed his expectations and finished seventh on 57 points with this record: W16 D9 L13

8. Everton

According to Lawro, the Toffees would be eighth on 63 points. They would have this record: W19 D6 L13

Reality: They ended up in eighth on 54 points with this record: W15 D9 L14

7. Leicester

According to Lawro, the Foxes would be seventh on 66 points. They would have this record: W20 D6 L12

Reality: Leicester ended the season in ninth 52 points with this record: W15 D7 L16

6. Arsenal

According to Lawro, the Gunners should have finished sixth on 67 points. They would have this record: W20 D7 L11

Reality: Arsenal managed to finish fifth on 70 points with this record: W21 D7 L10

5. Chelsea

According to Lawro, the Blues would have ended the season fifth on 76 points. They would have this record: W23 D7 L8

Reality: Chelsea managed to grab third spot with 72 points with this record: W21 D9 L8

4. Tottenham

According to Lawro, Spurs would have finished fourth on 80 points. They would have this record: W23 D11 L4

Reality: Tottenham did finish fourth but struggled towards the end of the campaign and accumulated 71 points with this record: W23 D2 L13

3. Manchester United

According to Lawro, the Red Devils should have finished third on 90 points. They would have this record: W28 D6 L4

Reality: Manchester United finished the campaign terribly in sixth and had the record: W19 D9 L10

Manchester United were woeful this season and under-performed a huge amount

2. Liverpool

According to Lawro, the Reds would have finished second on 92 points. They would have this record: W27 D11 L0

Reality: Liverpool did even better than he imagined, securing 97 points with a record of: W30 D7 L1

According to Lawro, the Cityzens would have finished first on 106 points – a Premier League record. They would have this record: W34 D4 L0

Reality: Manchester City won the Premier League with 98 points with this record: W32 D2 L4
